Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain celebrates return to training pitch after eight month lay-off

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has celebrated his return to the training pitch after eight months out injured with torn knee ligaments

He’s been injured for eight months.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain suffered the ultimate injury heartbreak back in April, as he tore knee ligaments that would rule him out of both the Champions League final and the World Cup – both of which he was nailed on to feature in.

It was the latest of many injuries that have stunted the midfielder’s development, which came at the worst possible time, after he had claimed his place on the right of Liverpool’s midfield.

After a long and difficult rehabilitation period, Oxlade-Chamberlain has returned to running on grass for the first time since he sustained the injury.

To mark the achievement, he has posted a photo to Instagram of him running on the grass accompanied by two coaches, with his arms outstretched in celebration.

“That feeling when you’re back out on the grass for the first time in eight months”, he captioned the post.
