Guilty faces all round here.

Louis van Gaal may be confident in his belief that he will still be Manchester United manager, but we have our doubts.

Jose Mourinho is still hanging around in the shadows, but he may have competition for the role if it does become vacant.

Alex Ferguson is still a key power broker at the club and this afternoon he was spotted emerging from a lunch with a Premier League manager most Manchester United fans would surely welcome at Old Trafford.

Pictures emerged Tuesday afternoon of Ferguson meeting with Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino and his assistant Jesus Perez before the West Ham-Manchester United game in London.

Tottenham confirmed this evening that they knew the two men were meeting, and it is understood they met previously at a league managers’ dinner some weeks back.

However, Pochettino looked as guilty as he was leaving the meeting, and no doubt it will increase speculation that despite a verbal agreement to stay at Spurs until 2021, he may be tempted by a move to Manchester.

However, United are insisting the meeting was totally innocent, regardless of what anyone may think.
