Alan Judge’s eyes are already on the road to recovery.
The Brentford midfielder suffered a double fracture to his right leg in a horror challenge from Ipswich’s Luke Hyam on Saturday afternoon, ruling Judge out for the rest of the domestic season as well as this summer’s European championships.
But, just over 24 hours after the injury, Judge has already adopted a considered perspective on his situation.
The 27-year-old posted a picture of himself in a hospital bed with his son and daughter by his side with a message suggesting that he’ll be back better than ever.

Judge wrote: “First of all, I would like to thank everyone for their messages of support; from the Bees fans, players I have and have not played with and from fans of other clubs around the country.
“It has been very touching to me and my family.
“This is football, things like this happen, that’s life.
“I will be back stronger and much better than I have been before.
“I will achieve my dream one way or the other. Nothing will hold me back.”
