Simon Lloyd

Five-year-old Murtaza Ahmadi has had quite a start to 2016.

A picture of him wearing a home-made Argentina shirt with the name and number of his hero Lionel Messi on the back swept the internet, with thousands of people attempting to find out the youngster’s identity and whereabouts.

Eventually, Murtaza was traced to Afghanistan and a meeting between him and his idol now appears imminent. The Football Federation of Afghanistan recently confirmed that Messi’s representatives had been in touch.

As he prepares for the meeting, Murtaza has now been given another Messi shirt. Only this time, it’s a genuine Barcelona replica shirt.
