AC Milan’s black U10 players allegedly racially abused at tournament in Italy

What kind of morons are these people

Kevin McGillicuddy

If this is true it’s an absolute disgrace.

Any incident of racism cannot be accepted.  It took football almost a whole generation to rid the game of hooliganism, but we hope that FIFA act much quicker to stamp out growing incidents of this disgusting behaviour.

Aiming racial slurs or hurling abuse at players just because of the colour of their skin or their background is sickening enough, but it now seems that football fans have hit a new low after aiming slurs at children between the ages of eight and ten in Italy.

AC Milan have claimed this afternoon that during an under-age tournament in Tuscany over the weekend, a number of their U10 players were subjected to alleged racist taunts from supporters in the stands. AC Milan were playing PSG in the competition’s quarter final when it’s alleged the incidents took place.

It is unclear who exactly was hurling the abuse and if they were connected with PSG, but AC Milan released an official statement on their website,

The Milan youth sector team, the Esordienti 2004, take on Benfica today in the semi-final of the Universal Cup. The prestigious youth tournament is taking place in Forte dei Marmi and kick-off is at midday. Milan reached this stage after defeating PSG yesterday.

It has been brought to our attention however that during yesterday’s match between Milan-PSG, that there was alleged incidents of racism from certain “people” in the stands towards Milan’s black players.

We do not wish to magnify the issue, but truly hope that these reports aren’t true or that it was simply a sporadic incident. If they were to be confirmed, then it would be simply unacceptable.

As of yet there has been no response from the organisers of the tournament apart from posting this message on their official Facebook Page

Agent Mino Raiola took to Twitter to give his view on what had happended and hit out at those behind the alleged abuse
