How low can you go?
Manchester United fans have endured some awful results this season, but a new low was found tonight as the club lost to a team that hadn’t played for two months in the Europa League.
Despite Sergio Romero’s heroics, the away side slumped to a 2-1 loss to FC Midtjylland which puts their progress in the competition in major doubt.
The reaction online was savage, and predictable.
It began with some facts.
#MID 2-1 #MUN – Manchester United have now lost all of their last 4 Europa League games

And didn’t get much better after that.
4 – Four of the last five wins for Danish teams over English teams have come against Manchester clubs (City twice, United twice). Pasted.

Some journalists had their say.
Amazing to think that was actually Manchester United. They were the best team in England and Europe not so long ago.

Louis van Gaal: the MUFC manager who gave 'football, bloody hell' an entirely different meaning

FC Midtjylland – no game in two months, one win in ten before that, and lost 9-1 on aggregate to Napoli in the group stages

And some other stats highlighted how bad things have gotten under Louis van Gaal.
Man Utd have now failed to win 21 of their 39 games across all competitions this season.

And of course there was more calls for his head.

And it seemed just three little words sum up Manchester United’s awful night for most fans.
A new low. Even Pokemon are scoring against them now. #MUFC pic.twitter.com/03pwNHTJ0d

A true night of shame. A new low. Beaten by a second rate DANISH side. The manager is a joke. The squad is a mess. Problems. #LVGOUT
