What a match!
It finished up 3-3 in the midweek Premier League clash between Manchester United and Newcastle at St James’ Park in a match that was full of drama.
Six goals, two penalties, numerous penalty shouts, a brace from Wayne Rooney of all people and a thunderbastard equaliser in the 11th hour all make for a very exciting match.
With such high drama, it’s not surprising that referee Mike Dean’s performance came under a lot of scrutiny. His reputation has been fairly low for his handling of the Diego Costa incident against Arsenal earlier this season and he did nothing to improve the public’s perception of him at St James’ Park according to the good people of Twitter.
Mike Dean retire mate. This ain't a joke anymore.

The replays are not kind to ref Mike Dean. That looks a clear penalty with Daryl Janmaat getting a touch on the ball first. #NUFC #MUFC

Fellaini will remember today as the night someone else on the pitch trended for their dreadful performance. Nice work, Mike Dean.

How much did Man Utd pay for Mike Dean? Seems like a great player…

Mike Dean as usual at his pedantic, smug self. Has to be the centre of attention and become the star of the show #NUFC

Mike Dean has a face you'd never tire of hitting with a starfish.

Titus Bramble has given better performances than Mike Dean, this evening.
