The 14 things you always see at a Premier League ground

Each weekend (and most midweeks) thousands of Irish fans make their way across the sea to see their favourite Premier League clubs in action.

For many youngsters it is the trip of a lifetime – a first chance to see star players up close and, even more memorably, to sample the truly unique atmosphere of a Premier League game.

Others are old hands but are no less tired of the experience, even though many of the sights, sounds and smells below are more than familiar.

1. Half-half scarves

They divide opinion. Some don’t like them, others hate them, but either way you can’t miss them.

2. Kids attending their first game

They’ll never forget it. Especially if their team loses.

You can’t blame them, in fairness.

12. An old bloke selling even older pin badges

You don’t know anyone who buys them, and yet he’s there for every game, and has been since the dawn of time.

They tend to be found predominately in west London.
