Shannon Briggs doesn’t need an invite, he goes where he wants, and usually does so shouting: “LET’S GO CHAMP!”
Like the time the boxer chased Wladimir Klitschko on a boat and taunted him.
Or when he disrupted a Klitschko public training session in Germany and taunted him.
Or followed him to a Florida gym. Why does he do this? Because Shannon Briggs, that’s why.
The 45-year-old had also hoped to set up a fight against the then heavyweight champion. The bout never came to fruition, but it made for some amusing videos.
This particular clip isn’t one for the Shannon Briggs hall of fame, but the former WBO heavyweight champion made his presence felt on Thursday afternoon in Manchester.
Briggs gatecrashed the press conference promoting Anthony Joshua’s fight against Eric Molina this Saturday.

Briggs and Joshua seem to be on good terms, so the cynical amongst you might claim his intervention at the press conference was merely a publicity stunt.
To which Briggs would undoubtedly reply: “LET’S GO CHAMP!”
