It actually happened.
You may remember that, last month, we reported that a bizarre event in Phoenix, Arizona, was being put together with a number of eyebrow-raising contests.
UFC legends Michael Bisping and Chael Sonnen were set to compete in a grappling exhibition – fair enough.
WWE icons Rey Mysterio and Kurt Angle would put on a show in a professional wrestling match – all in good fun.
But, most unusually, Roy Jones Jr. was also going to fight a fan with a prize of $100,000 for the lucky contestant if he could beat the former multi-weight world champion.
While we expected some sanctioning body or another to step in and stop this event from taking place, it actually happened on Sunday night.

URFight was the name of the event and it ended precisely how you’d have imagined.
To be fair to Vyron Phillips, his opponent who just so happens to be a mixed martial arts fighter, he lasted into the second round against Jones Jr. but that was as far as he could manage as towards the end of the second, a sneaky right hand counter sent the 33-year-old crashing to the canvas.
Let’s hope we don’t see anything this stupid ever again.
