WATCH: Katie Taylor’s terrifying hand speed suggests she is ready for the pro game

Blistering pad work

Katie Taylor is in America preparing for her pro debut. Judging by the below video, preparations are going well.

The 2012 Olympic Champion is set to make her bow in the paid ranks next month in Wembley Arena and we are already a little bit worried on behalf of her as yet unconfirmed opponent.

Promoter Eddie Hearn already has Taylor teed up for a fight in London on November 26 and on the undercard of Anthony Joshua’s defence in Manchester on December 10. It is all part of an accelerated programme that Hearn hopes will see Taylor fighting for a World Title before the end of 2017.

Once untouchable in the lightweight division, the Bray fighter endured a difficult 2016, which saw here lose a controversial Olympic bout to 35-year-old Finn Mira Pokonen.

Those fearing she is past her best would do well to watch the video she posted on her Instagram page. It shows the 30-year-old engaging in some blistering pad work with trainer Ross Enamait ahead of her professional debut.

Taylor looks back to her best.
