Anybody can get it.

There is no WBA super lightweight champion after Friday night’s title fight. Despite defeating challenger Ashley Theophane via ninth round TKO, Adrien Broner was forced to relinquish his belt and give up €50,000 of his purse after weighing in 0.4 lbs over the 140 lb weight limit.

“The Problem”, or the “Can Man”, as he likes to be called had the better of the exchanges throughout the fight and the referee eventually intervened in the ninth round to award him the TKO victory after his opponent appeared to be hurt after a body shot.

However, the slow motion replay shows that just before the referee stepped in to stop the fight, Broner landed an illegal shot to the groin, which appeared to take the wind out of his sails.

After the bout, Broner called out recently retired boxing great Floyd Mayweather to step back into the ring and face him. Although, he did say during his spiel that he would settle for a sparring session with the 49-0 pugilist.
