Vine: Ex-World champ in hot water for repeating exact same insensitive comment

Well, that was dumb

Ben Kiely

Adrien Broner has landed himself in it again for an incredibly stupid reason.

The three-time world champion put on a clinic on Saturday night, taking a unanimous decision victory over John Molina Jr. The judges scored the contest 120-108, 120-108, 118-110 in favour of Broner.

With the win, the 25-year-old’s professional record stands at 30-1-0, with 22 of his wins coming via KO.

However, during the post-fight interview he made some comments that got the boxing world hemming and hawing with disapproval. Broner sent out a message to the rest of the division before being swiftly cut off by the ring announcer.

I’ve said it before. Anyone CAN get it. AfriCANS, MexiCANS…

If you’re feeling a sense of de ja vu it’s because Broner has gotten in trouble over saying the exact same phrase after beating Carlos Molina in May.  The World Boxing Council suspended him for a few months for the incident and he may face similar repercussions this time around.
