Andy Lee showed great heart to score an impressive come-from-behind draw in New York last night.
Lee took on heavy hitting Peter Quillin in New York in the early hours of Sunday morning and had to dig deep to grind out a draw.
The Irishman battled back from the brink of defeat to earn a split-decision draw. This stellar seventh round knock down played a large part in Lee’s phenomenal comeback. It marked the first time Quillin had been dropped to the canvas in his professional career.
The Limerick man came back from being knocked down twice to share the spoils on the night. One of which was a result of a brutal haymaker in the very first round.
After the bout, Quillin tweeted his gratitude for Lee’s performance in the massively entertaining fight.
.@AndyLeeBoxing it was an honor to share the ring with you. You're a gentleman and a champion.. God bless. #PBConNBC pic.twitter.com/CVMVXrcy5N
