It’s fair to say that Tyson Fury isn’t Wladimir Klitschko’s biggest fan.
The two pugilists had a very one-sided verbal sparring session in a press conference in Dusseldorf on Tuesday.
Fury threw everything he had at the Ukrainian, insisting he was past it at 39 and vowed to dethrone him of his WBA Super, WBO and IBF belts when they square off at Dusseldorf’s Esprit Arena on October 24.
“It’s a very personal mission for me to rid boxing of a boring person like you. I’ve fallen asleep listening to you. You have as much charisma as my underpants – zero, none! You are a robotic person who is not exciting to watch. Jab, jab, hold, that’s all you do. You are boring and all of Europe wants to see you get beaten.
“You have a chin like a piece of glass and when I hit it, it will explode like this glass against that wall. What am I afraid of? A man who has had 20 defences against bums? I’m not interested in your titles, I’m only interested in breaking your face in.”
Tyson, who has a pristine 24-0 record, is a whopping 13 years younger than Klitschko. He reckons that he has youth on his side for their bout and that Klitschko is over the hill.
“You are an old man. You’ve got grey hair like my trainer and my manager. I wouldn’t be surprised if you’ve had Botox as well.”
“I told you he was entertaining!” said Klitschko with a wry smile on his face.
