Video: Tyson Fury storms ring to confront ‘bum’ Deontay Wilder after vicious knockout win

David Haye might be trying to goad the champ into facing him, but it’s clear that Tyson Fury’s focus is elsewhere.

The new heavyweight champion showed up as Deontay Wilder defended his WBC belt against Poland’s Artur Szpilka in New York last night, and jumped into the ring to confront the American after his knockout victory.

The pair went nose to nose, with Fury grabbing the microphone to call out Wilder for a fight ‘anytime, any place, anywhere’, telling the American ‘I’ll beat you, you bum. You’re a bum!’

The pair were separated as Fury theatrically ripped off his waistcoat, before Wilder fired back: ‘You can run around like you’re a preacher but I promise you, when you do step in this ring I will baptise you!’

Wilder has another mandatory defence against Alexander Povetkin to come, while Fury must also defeat dethroned champion Wladimir Klitschko in a rematch, but if both men are still holding the belts then a unification bout seems inevitable.

And while Wilder struggled to put away the unfancied Pole, when the climax did come in the ninth round, it was a no-doubter.
