Video: Katie Taylor’s coach not impressed with judges’ questionable scoring

Some of the scoring seemed a bit dodgy

Katie Taylor’s coach Peter Taylor had some concerns about how her semi-final bout was scored by the judges in South Korea.

Irish boxing legend Katie Taylor is on course for another world title after an emphatic TKO victory over Jinhua Yin in the semis in South Korea. However, Katie’s father and coach was a little surprised by how the judges scored the fight.

Katie consistently out-struck her Chinese opponent for the duration of the bout which resulted in Yin being forced to throw in the towel. Despite being so dominant, the scorecards read that Katie had lost a round before taking home the victory.

Peter told Sportsfile he was shocked by the judges’s decision to award a round to Yin who he felt hadn’t landed much, if anything in the fight.
