Tyson Fury is crowned the heavyweight champion of the world after demolishing Wladimir Klitschko

Incredible scenes!

Tyson Fury is the new heavyweight champion of the world.

The British fighter did a demolition job on reigning champion Wladimir Klitschko and scored a unanimous decision over the Ukrainian.

Fury put in a heroic performance throughout the 12-round fight and looked the sharper, stronger and more up-for-it fighter in pretty much every round.

Klitschko was laboured and struggled to deal with Fury’s range, movement and overall output

The Ukrainian didn’t land anything of significance in the opening stanzas while Fury attacked from the outside with a jerky style that made it impossible for Klitschko tos ettle.

Fury was the busier fighter throughout and opened a cut below the champ’s left eye. It was only in the final round that Klitschko came to life and went for his rival, but the 6ft 9in Brit weathered the late storm to win.

It wasn’t pretty, it won’t go down as a classic, but Fury is the new heavyweight champion and the boxing world lapped it up.
