Tony Bellew’s victory is, of course, even better with Titanic music

Beautiful

As you’ll probably have heard by now, Tony Bellew defeated David Haye in last night’s big fight at the O2.

The Liverpudlian dominated proceedings after Haye had appeared to injure his ankle in the sixth round, and the Londoner’s corner eventually threw in the towel in round 11 with the result of the contest inevitable.

The win was understandably a pretty big deal for Bellew, whose neck hairs will no doubt stand on end as he watches footage of the fight back at some point today. But perhaps no piece of footage will do the bout’s final stages justice quite like one that’s accompanied by Titanic music…

In recent months it’s become something of a trend to set clips of sporting highlights to the climax of Celine Dion’s My Heart Will Go On: from Harry Kane’s free-kick against Iceland (yes we did just call it a highlight)…

… to Shane Long’s crucial breakaway winner at Anfield in January…

So it’s no surprise to learn that there’s a special Titanic-music-themed edition of the final seconds of round eleven doing the rounds on Sunday.

Posted by @TitanicOnThings (yes there is an actual Twitter account for this sort of thing now), the tweet had already racked up over 1,000 retweets within hours of the fight’s conclusion. Enjoy.
