Qatari royal family member to make professional boxing debut

Ben Kenyon

We know all about Prince Naseem Hamed and Anthony Joshua’s opponent ‘Prince’ Charles Martin, but now there’s some *actual* royalty preparing to enter the ring.

Sheikh Fahad Bin Khalid Al Thani, a member of the Qatari royal family, will make his professional boxing debut in London on May 21.

The Sheikh, who is being coached by Cuban trainer Ismael Antonio Salas, is on the undercard for David Haye’s upcoming heavyweight bout against Arnold Gjergjaj.

The first ever Qatari professional boxer, Sheikh Fahad claims to have been a fan of former heavyweight champ Haye both inside and outside the ring.

While his opponent is yet to be confirmed, he has dedicated the fight to Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamed Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar and founder of Paris Saint-Germain owners Qatar Sports Investments.
