It’s so shiny
If the WBC had asked us we could have got one made up for much cheaper. We know a lad who knows a lad. But they didn’t so instead they went and spent a helluva lot of cash on the belt that either Manny Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweather will lift at the end of the most eagerly awaited boxing match this century.
The two clash on May 2nd in Las Vegas and the fight is all about the money. The cash that both fighters are going to get for their roles, as well as the astronomical cost of trying to get a seat. And in keeping with that theme the WBC have today announced that the belt that the eventual winner will lift costs a cool $1million.
In recent weeks the WBC had been promoting a competition where fans got to choose between two options for the belt-either an onyx creation or the more traditional emerald design.

We’re suckers for tradition so we thought that the belt, which will be a deep shade of green, would look quite fashionable with the emeralds on it and that’s what SportsJOE public has agreed too. 53% of the vote went for the emerald option and it looks quite shiny and pretty. And for the cost of it, it would sure want to be.
