It looks like poor Scott Quigg won't be eating solid foods for a while.
The British pugilist lost his WBA super bantamweight strap after being on the wrong side of a split decision to Carl Frampton in Manchester on Saturday night.
It emerged after the final bell, that Quigg had broken his jaw at some point during the bout. He fought eight rounds with the debilitating injury, according to his promoter Eddie Hearn, with reports suggesting Frampton caused the injury with an uppercut in the fourth round.
Quigg has since tweeted an update from hospital confirming that the surgery went well and that he aims to return to the ring soon.
