Nick Blackwell gave everything in his title defence against Chris Eubank Jr, but the fight was stopped on doctors’ advice and now we can see why.
The Trowbridge-born fighter lost his British middleweight crown, but not before absorbing a series of blows from his opponent and keeping going.
But medics stepped in during the 10th round, and from the looks of Blackwell’s eye at the time of the stoppage it’s easy to see why.

The 25-year-old left the ring on a stretcher after the fight was stopped, and plenty from the boxing world and beyond have offered their support.
