It's quite something

So it is finally happening.

The pound for pound best boxer on the planet for the past 15 years will take on the two-weight UFC champion.

Yep, Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor will be going head to head in a boxing match on 26 August in Las Vegas.

It will more than likely smash box office records and be one of the most anticipated fights of all time even if it is a mismatch on paper.

No doubt that a day won’t go by where something new to build hype around this fight will be unveiled whether it is a promotional video, press conference or interview but at this moment we do have the official poster.

As per MMAjunkie’s Twitter, they revealed the poster and it is quite something.

The poster confirms that the fight will be broadcast on HBO Showtime and is enough to whet the appetite of any fan.

The fight was announced on Thursday night after both fighters took to their respective social media accounts the unveil the bout.

Dana White spoke on ESPN SportsCenter last night to answer questions and revealed a couple of key details about the fight.

Both fighters will weigh in at 154lb, it will take place at the T-Mobile Arena and will be straight up boxing.

Unfortunately for MMA fans, the undercard will be provided by Floyd Mayweather and his promotion so we will not get to see a stacked UFC bill but instead watch some of Mayweather’s fighters.

The two fighters are of similar build and reach with McGregor holding a slight advantage on that front so it could make for an entertaining matchup.

And the announcement of the fight has even made McGregor’s coach John Kavanagh nervous as he will be hiding behind his couch for the foreseeable future, such a classic John.
