Nick Blackwell has announced on social media this week that he is to retire from boxing.

The British middleweight, who spent several days in induced coma following his bout with Chris Eubank Jr last month, tweeted “that’s me done” when asked by a fan about a potential return to the sport.

The former British middleweight champion insists there are no hard feelings between him and Eubank Jr, insisting that both fighters were “there doing a job”.

Blackwell retires with an impressive 19-4-1 fight record, and a former British & Commonwealth middleweight champion. He has suggested he will stay involved in the sport, providing his recovery goes as planned.
