Michael Conlan has come a long way from wearing a red or blue singlet inside the ring.
We had become accustomed to seeing Michael Conlan wear fairly plain fighting attire when he was dominating the amateur scene. However, once he walked out for his professional debut, it became apparent that he had firmly closed that chapter of his career.
Conlan introduced himself to the pro ranks on St Patricks Day in Madison Square Garden looking like some sort of shredded leprechaun. He wore a green waistcoat and an outrageously massive green top hat emblazoned with sparkly shamrocks.
His shorts, which were predominately white with green trimming, were actually quite understated in comparison to the rest of his get-up.

For his second fight, an all-out annihilation of a man who had absolutely no business sharing the ring with him, the shorts were a classic all black design.
Conlan’s set to have a third professional fight on the undercard of ‘the Battle of Brisbane’ between Manny Pacquiao and Jeff Horn this weekend. He takes on Australia’s Jarrett Owen, a 5-4-3 fighter who is here to provide a pretty safe win for Conlan.
He takes on Jarrett Owen in the Lion’s Den, a 5-4-3 fighter who is expected not to provide much of a challenge for the rising Irish prospect.
Conlan tweeted out a photo of his fight shorts for the bout and, to put it bluntly, they look like they were fashioned out of the carcass of a muppet. It’s a tri-colour, but the orange part at the sides look way fluffier than we expected.
Delighted to have @MSLMotorGroup on board with me here in Brisbane & looking forward to driving with them when I'm back home! pic.twitter.com/cA6BtHzX7I
