Manny Pacquiao reportedly attacked at family lunch a week before Timothy Bradley fight

Manny Pacquiao was nearly assaulted at a Los Angeles restaurant on Monday, according to a report by a Filipino journalist in the city.

The Philippine Star is reporting that Pacquiao was attacked while hosting a lunch for family and friends at the Kabuki Japanese restaurant in LA.

One of the reporters for the publication, Abac Cordero, is currently in Los Angeles, provided further details of the incident on Twitter.

Pac-Man, who is running for the Senate in the Phillipines, will take on Timothy Bradley at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas in a weeks time with the vacant WBO international welterweight belt going on the line.

The fight will mark the completion of a trilogy of their fights, with Bradley defeating Pacquiao via split decision the first time they met in the ring, while Pacquaio won his WBO welterweight title back in their second meeting with a unanimous decision victory.

Pacquiao is believed to earning a $20 million paycheck for the fight, which is also his first since losing to Floyd Mayweather in the “Fight of the Century” last May.
