Taylor already holds the IBF and WBA titles, and the Bray fighter has a perfect record of 12 wins from 12 professional bouts, five by knockout. She will get her chance in March to claim her third belt in the sport.
Katie’s upcoming opponent Volante has yet to taste defeat in her professional career. The 36-year-old Brazilian has won all 14 of her bouts, eight by knockout.
More details about the card are due to be announced soon.
The fight announcement comes just a day after Taylor was named the best pound-for-pound female professional boxer in the world by BoxRec, the sport’s official record keeper.
