“I just think it would be very disappointing if she never got the chance to go to Ireland and let her have that moment.”

Eddie Hearn has said that a potential rematch between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano could take place in Ireland.

The pair are preparing to headline Madison Square Garden on Saturday night in what will be the biggest bout in the history of female boxing.

Taylor (20-0-0 professional record) faces Serrano (42-1-1) for the undisputed lightweight championship and the Bray boxer is expecting the world’s most famous sporting arena to be packed out by Irish supporters.

Katie Taylor predicts that Madison Square Garden will be full of Irish fans for Serrano bout.

Taylor predicted that the atmosphere on Saturday night will be ‘electric’ thanks to the presence of so many Irish fans cheering her on.

“I definitely think it’s going to be full of Irish people. I think every single person I know right now is actually going over to the fight,” Taylor told SportsJOE.

“It’s going to be packed with Irish people, the atmosphere is going to be electric and it’s just going to be a special night.

The 2012 Olympic gold medalist highlighted the support she has received from Irish fans throughout her career, from her amateur days to now headlining at Madison Square Garden.

Taylor said she is humbled by the level of support she is receiving leading up to the biggest fight of her career in New York City.

“I think the support from the Irish people for me has always been incredible, right from my amateur days, that’s something that I’m just so grateful for,” Taylor added.

“To see the amount of support that I’m getting for the biggest night of my career as well, it’s going to add to the magnitude of the fight for me. Yeah, I just can’t wait.”

Looking ahead from Saturday’s bout, Hearn hinted Taylor and Serrano could have potentially a rematch in Ireland in the future.

Hearn, Taylor’s promoter, said that it would be “very disappointing” if she never got to fight as a professional in her home country.

“I just think it would be very disappointing if she never got the chance to go to Ireland and let her have that moment,” said Hearn.

“But if she beats Serrano maybe we could do the repeat there.”

For Taylor, the only event that could top headling Madison Square Garden would possibly be a homecoming fight in Ireland.
