Jose Mourinho’s reaction to Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather question was something else

Gripped

If Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather is good enough for Jose Mourinho, it’s good enough for us.

When we saw Conor McGregor knock out Ivan Buchinger in the Helix to become a double Cage Warriors champion, we knew he was destined for great things in MMA.

However, few would have predicted that he would end up being the biggest superstar the sport has ever seen, explode into the mainstream and eventually fight Floyd Mayweather in what’s likely to be the most lucrative money fight in PPV history.

Stop yourself from overanalysing everything and break this fight down in its simplest terms. Boxing’s best vs one of MMA’s greatest inside the ring. It’s Batman vs Superman on planet Krypton. It’s Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather in the fucking boxing ring.

How could you not get excited about that?

One man who seems genuinely excited by the absolutely insane match-up is Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho. When asked about the big fight during his press conference on Friday, the ‘Special One’ gave a very special response.

“My dream was that starting in a boxing match and ended in a different way (laughs). Both of them showing their qualities in a fight, not just in boxing, but that’s different obviously.”

Alas, the timing of the fight in this part of the world means that Mourinho won’t be tuning in to watch the fight live, but he will certainly see it the next day.

“Too late. It’s too late. It’s too. I have to sleep and next morning I will look at it.”

Check out Mourinho’s wide-eyed and animated response to the question in the video embedded below.
