Whatever happens in tonight’s IBF super-bantamweight title decider, we don’t fancy Mike Criscio throwing in the towel.
Chris Avalos’ manager has put 10,000 smackers (or dollars if you’re not a douche like me) on his fighter claiming the title in Belfast this evening.
That means he could be looking at winnings of $50,000 if “The Hitman” pulls off the upset over the hometown favourite.
“I almost got odds of 9-1 but then they dropped” Criscio told the Belfast Telegraph. “I put £10,000 on Chris to win because I know he’s going to win the fight and I may even put a thousand on some of the rounds because I can see him stopping Frampton.”
“The Jackal” is as high as 1/10 favourite with some bookmakers but Criscio, whose fighter holds a record of 25-2 with 19 knockouts, believes the odds matter little.
“Chris is going to win the fight and I’m not just saying that because I am his manager but because he’s just so tough, he’s never been knocked down. Frampton is a great fighter, but he has never been in with the level of competition as Avalos,” he said.
“I matched Chris very tough on the way up and the reason I did that was so that he would be ready for this stage. He can handle everything that Frampton has but I don’t think Frampton can handle everything he’s got.”
