Katie Taylor is closing out a fantastic year in style, after taking home yet another award last night

The Bray boxer was crowned the Irish Sports Council/Irish Times Sportswoman of the Year 2014 after an outstanding year which included winning her fifth consecutive world title and a record-breaking sixth European title.

Taylor saw off 15 other nominees to claim the coveted prize. She finished ahead of Irish fullback and IRB world player of the year nominee Niamh Briggs and wondergoal enthusiast Stephanie Roche to claim her fourth Sportswoman of the Year accolade.

However, the year’s not over yet. There’s still one more sports personality trophy up for grabs and some say it’s the most prestigious of them all.

Of course, we are talking about the SportsJOE Sports Personality of the Year. Katie Taylor is down to the final three and if you want her to win the award to trump all other awards, you can vote for the boxing hero here.
