Footage of Tyson Fury’s corner in unforgettable 12th round against Deontay Wilder is must-see

The drama!

We hope Ben Davison treated himself to a stiff drink after that.

Davison was a nervous wreck throughout the 12th round of Tyson Fury’s WBC heavyweight title shot against Deontay Wilder last month.

The round proved to be one of the most thrilling in heavyweight history as Fury climbed off the canvas after appearing to have been knocked unconscious by a brutal combination from ‘The Bronze Bomber’ in Los Angeles.

The corner footage of the last round makes for fascinating viewing as Davison, Fury’s head coach, prayed for his fighter to see out the fight and even roared “you dumb fuck” in Fury’s direction when he attempted to exchange shots with Wilder.

Ricky Hatton attempted to pass on his wisdom by ordering ‘The Gypsy King’ to tie Wilder up at all costs and run the clock down while Freddie Roach was simply entranced by what was going on in the ring.

Much to the exasperation of Team Fury, the judges deemed the contest a split draw and negotiations are currently ongoing to set a date for the rematch, when the score will finally be settled and one man will walk away having tasted defeat for the first time as a professional.

“How I got back up, I really don’t know,” Fury said the morning after the controversial outcome.

“I was sound asleep on the floor. All of a sudden, I opened my eyes and I jumped up.

“But he had said to me [before the fight], he said to me, ‘if you get knocked down, I won’t stop the fight.’ He said, ‘I’ll tell you to step to the left and step to the right and if you can do and you tell me you’re alright then I won’t stop the fight.’

“And then when he asked me if I was alright, I said ‘yes.’ He told me to go the left, I went to the left. He told me to go to the right, I went to the right.”
