While question marks remain about the goings-on before Floyd Mayweather’s fight against Manny Pacquiao, it seems ‘Money’ wants to show he’s the best on the court as well as in the ring.

According to Paolo Trillo, manager of Filipino basketball team Meralco Bolts, the pound-for-pound champ has put seven figures on the line for the prospective spin-off.

Speaking to Inquirer.net, Trillo said: “I was kidding him when I asked him ‘why, do you think you can take on Manny?’ And he goes, ‘how do you think I started out? I was playing basketball in the streets.’”

After the reception Mayweather got during his fight against Andre Berto, perhaps it’s time to step things up.

We’re not sure challenging a 5ft 5in man to a game of basketball is going to prove all that much, mind you.
