We’re not sure if we would fall out of love with anything worth this amount.
But, when your middle name is actually Money (self-labelled or not), poxy amounts of cash probably don’t have the same appeal.
So Floyd Mayweather showed off his ridiculous cheque for the fight with Pacquiao in Las Vegas to reporters in true Floyd Mayweather fashion and he unravelled a hefty $100m.
“No pictures, though,” he said, pretending to be shy as he slid the cheque out of an envelope as if he was showing off a rare Pokemon card on the playground. “Don’t want any pictures of it.”
Because pictures would’ve been ridiculous.
And, even that outrageous sum for standing in a ring for 36 minutes, Mayweather went on to say that he has fallen out of love with boxing.
Suppose anything less than a century of millions would just be a letdown now.
“I don’t really think I’ll miss the sport,” Mayweather pondered retirement for the 213th time. “I don’t even watch boxing. At one particular time I loved the sport of boxing. I wanted to go to every fight and wanted to be at every boxing event. But I just lost the love for the sport.”
There you have it.
Floyd Mayweather of Mayweather Promotions doesn’t even watch boxing.
