Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao close to agreeing fight terms

The superfight moves a step closer, after Pacquiao agrees to Mayweather's terms

Neil Treacy

It’s being reported that the long, long, incredibly long awaited Manny Pacquiao-Floyd Mayweather superfight is finally close to being set.

Yahoo Sports say that Top Ranks’s Bob Arum – Pacquiao’s promoter – has said that his client has agreed to the terms put forward by Mayweather for the proposed May 2 fight, and that they are just waiting for the American to sign off on his own terms.

It’s believed that Mayweather will be picking up a 60/40 split of the purse, expected to be a whopping $120m, with tickets for the fight heading towards record prices to cover the monster purses both fighters will receive.

Granted, it may be four or five years too late, but it looks like the fight looks closer than ever.

I for one can’t wait for it to happen, so we never have to hear about it again.
