Katie Taylor is looking at another busy year in 2019.
Taylor closed out 2018 in style by successfully defending her WBA and IBF lightweight titles in dominant fashion against Eva Wahlström in Madison Square Garden last week.
The Bray fighter moved to 12-0 as a professional by earning a comprehensive unanimous decision against Wahlström and it makes you wonder who could possibly stand in her way of going an entire pro career undefeated.
Taylor’s next step will be an intriguing one and her promoter, Eddie Hearn, has revealed his plans for the 32-year-old next year.
The Matchroom boss is targeting a pair of unification bouts against WBO lightweight champion Rose Volante and WBC queen Delfine Persoon, as well as a clash with WBO light welterweight champion Amanda Serrano.
“Rose Volante is the one we want,” Hearn said.

“There are three fights we really want: Volante, Delfine Persoon, and Serrano – they’re the three I’d love her to have in 2019.
“I don’t know what order yet but quite possibly Volante will be next but we’ll see.”
Taylor’s manager Brian Peters recently expressed frustration about being unable to nail down an opponent for the London 2012 gold medallist despite massive offers on the table.
Having treated Taylor like the superstar she is since she switched to the paid ranks in 2016, Hearn continues to be blown away by the Irishwoman’s talents.
“I thought Katie was fantastic again,” Hearn added. “Every time she fights now the crowd seem to say ‘wow wasn’t she incredible?’
“You know exactly what you are going to get every time she goes into the ring. It was another great performance as we move on to a big 2019.”
