David Haye thinks Tyson Fury is afraid to fight him

Strong words

SportsJOE

He may have only fought once in three and a half years, but David Haye is still feeling pretty confident.

The Hayemaker returned with a first-round knockout of Mark de Mori on Saturday night and wasted no time in calling out new heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

Asked about the possibility of facing Fury, Haye said: “I think he’s a good fighter, very good. It’s a shame he doesn’t want to fight me. I think we all know why, when he sees punch power like that.

“I want to unify the heavyweight division. I set my plan out to do that and fell short. I am going to make a serious run at this division. The titles are all over the place. It will take someone like me to clean it up.”

While not everybody thinks Haye would be up to the challenge, you’ve got to admire his confidence.
