Conor McGregor is fond of wearing some extravagant gear, as his choice of outfit for his third press conference with Floyd Mayweather well suggested.
There was, therefore, much debate about which brand he would sign a deal with to wear their apparel for his boxing debut against the American.
In the UFC, all athletes are bound to wear the brand Reebok, as a result of their exclusive deal with the UFC, and fighters can’t wear any other brand when they’re fighting in the UFC cage.
McGregor has been a Reebok athlete since 2015 which was just after the many signed their $70m, six-year deal with the UFC – but the Mayweather bout falls outside of their range.
After the first press conference in Los Angelas on Tuesday night, McGregor posed for a photoshoot wearing the brand ‘Everlast’ boxing shorts backstage.
On the back of this photoshoot, it has been reported that the 28-year-old is now sponsored by the premier boxing brand and that he will wear both their shorts and gloves in his debut.

In fairness, those red shorts are tasty enough, but nothing would look better than these boxing gloves that McGregor was pictured wearing earlier in the year from Ibox Customise.

Much of the Dubliner’s gear divides opinion, but there is no doubting the fact that the whole of Ireland would be bowled over if he decided to wear those beautifully patriotic gloves in his much-publicised fight with Floyd Mayweather on August 26.
