Those in attendance for Crumlin Boxing Club’s annual Good Friday show were treated to an appearance by arguably the biggest superstar in combat sports.
Conor McGregor turned up at his childhood boxing club earlier this week for a sparring session with the likes of Willo Hayden and Michael McGrane and it was the latter who shared the ring with ‘The Notorious’ in an exhibition contest to close out Crumlin BC’s 27th annual Easter weekend showcase.
While it was no more than a glorified spar, with both fighters having a bit of fun in front of the delighted fans, there were some nice shots landed by both men.

McGregor had fought on the same show as an up-and-coming boxing prospect before switching his focus to mixed martial arts at Straight Blast Gym.
He regularly returns to support the club and gave fans the chance to watch one of sports’ most famous faces live on Friday.
According to a report from Irish-Boxing, the bout was declared a draw and McGrane’s sister was in clear disbelief about the fact that ‘The Hurricane’ had just gone blow-for-blow with McGregor.

McGregor’s next move as a professional fighter remains unclear. Having seemingly reversed his unexpected retirement announcement last month, McGregor is set to sit down with UFC president Dana White in the coming days to discuss a return to the Octagon although several options are open to the Irishman in the boxing ring too.
