SBG fighter Artem Lobov has upset former WBA welterweight world champion Paulie Malignaggi at the BKFC 6: Lobov vs. Malignaggi main event at the Florida State Fairgrounds Expo Hall in Tampa.
Lobov defeated Malignaggi via unanimous decision (48-47, 48-47, 48-47) to extend his bare knuckle boxing record to 2-0 following his debut win over Jason Knight in April.
Lobov and Malignaggi clashed at the pre-fight press conference with a melee ensuing between the Russian and members of Malignaggi’s team but the former UFC fighter has said that he’s now ready to move on from the New Yorker who has had a decorated history with Lobov and his teammate Conor McGregor.
“This was an emotional fight for me,” said Lobov.
“I started more on back foot than usual, but still pressed and stalked him. Even though many people talk a lot about fighting and Paulie had a lot to say, he showed up to fight so I respect him for that.
“The feud is over and we move on. I am happy I was victorious tonight and I can focus back on my family and my son. It’s all about him now.”
