Taylor is part of the undercard for Paul and Tyson’s bout which will be streamed on Netflix.
An angry Jake Paul made several $1 million bets with Katie Taylor and other fighters on the undercard at a press conference for his bout with boxing legend Mike Tyson.
Tyson vs Paul is set to take place on Friday November 15 at Dallas’ AT&T Stadium and will include Katie Taylor’s fight against Amanda Serrano as part of the undercard.
During a press conference on Wednesday, host Ariel Helwani asked those on the undercard who they think will come out victorious in the main event. Unsurprisingly, the vast majority of fighters chose Tyson over Paul.
This led the YouTuber to jump from his seat and demanded to know “how much” those who bet against him would wager. The 27-year-old made a number of $1m bets, including with Bray’s Taylor. Other fighters wagered their houses, a ring and Dana Coolwell offered $20.
The fight will be Iron Mike’s first professional bout in 19 years. The former world heavyweight champion did not engage much with Paul during the press conference, often times seeming uninterested, only engaging to fire back at a reporter who asked him about a potential defeat to Paul.
Tyson shouted: “I am not going to lose, did you hear what I said?”
The press conference produced another bizarre moment when former world champion Tony Bellew crashed the stage with a microphone, accompanied by an old man wearing a robe and boxing gloves.
Before being ejected from the conference, Bellew said of Paul: “He’s the champion of the care home. [Jake] is fighting a grandfather so why not fight a great-grandfather who has had two new hips and is 106.”
