It’s the thought that counts.
Tommy Conlon became the first Irish boxer to win gold at the World Boxing Championships today. Or, at least according to Amir Khan he did.
The British boxer meant to congratulate Michael Conlan on his impressive feat, but made a mess of it.Khan, who’s in Doha as part of the BBC’s coverage of the tournament, deleted the tweet, but also messed up his second effort at congratulating the Belfast bantamweight, misspelling Michael’s surname.
However, it’s the thought that counts and Khan was clearly impressed by Conlan’s performance.
