Saving you money for sunscreen, or umbrella purchases

Getting fit and staying healthy does not have to hurt your wallet.

Sometimes it can get expensive to work out.  You don’t have the right equipment or you cant afford a gym membership.

Fear not, however, as these five tips will help you work out on a budget and save that extra cash to fly away this summer. By putting in the hard work over the coming weeks, you will be able to show off that body you’ve put some much time and effort, but not money, into.

1. Utilise free, online websites, like this one

SportsJOE have fantastic fitness posts and great work-out ideas to keep you motivated and on target. You can also check out my Health & Fitness Page on Facebook, where you can check out free videos and training tips.

2. Utilise free trials at local gyms

If you live in a highly populated area, chances are there are new gyms opening all the time. Down every road and lane-way, there are gyms springing up. Go in, sign up and use their two-week or buy-one-class-get-one-free, or reduced price trials and get in a great workout for a low cost. or even no cost.

3. Podcasts

iTunes has many other options besides music these days. There are an endless supply of podcasts, ranging from yoga to full body work-out videos, that you can stream and do from the comfort of your home.

4. Visit your local, public library

You will be able to find many work-out videos that you can borrow for up to a month at a time, for as little as 99 cents. I find fitness books, and health and fitness magazines, each week to give me great ideas for work-outs.

5. Get out-doors

Take advantage of the wonderful Irish weather we are, occasionally, having. Get out there and walk, run, hike, swim, bike or garden. Any form of exercise where your heart rate is elevated will help burn calories and keep you healthy.

Of course, if you do fancy getting involved in any work-out programmes, joining classes or heading along to a gym, be sure to get in touch with me. Email Invictusptmegan@gmail.com or find me on Instagram@Invictusfitmiss and Twitter@megan91williams
