“It was tough, but that’s top level football.”
Declan Rice was beaming after scoring a late winner for Arsenal against Manchester United, at The Emirates.
United thought they had won it, late on, through Alejandro Garnacho but his goal was ruled out for offside. Arsenal then rallied and won it with late goals from Rice and Gabriel Jesus.

Following the game, Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag complained about a couple of “nasty” penalty calls that went against United on recent trips to North London, against Arsenal and Tottenham.
“I love to play at home with the fans and the atmosphere is unbelievable,” Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard told Sky Sports, after his side’s 3-1 win. “I am thrilled to come behind and very, very happy. It’s the best feeling in the world. This is what we play for. To give them something back and how they support us and it is amazing to give them this back.”
Rice, meanwhile, was positively buzzing as he joined the Sky Sports panel on the sideline, after the game.
As a replay of his late winner, which took a deflection off Harry Maguire’s out-stretched leg, was playing out, Rice was asked if that was definitely his goal. “What do you think, Roy,” he remarked, as he turned to his old Ireland assistant manager.
“O.G!” Keane replied.
Rice spoke about how he always wanted to play in high-stakes game, such as United versus Arsenal clashes, and admitted there was nothing he could do about his £105 million price-tag. Asked, again, about that winner, there was another back-and-forth, with both men smiling.
DECLAN RICE: Roy’s had enough of it, though. He don’t wanna see it!
ROY KEANE: It was an O.G!
"I think I controlled it on my chin and then scored!" 🤣

That result means Arsenal are sixth in the league, while that second defeat of the season for United leaves them 11th, heading into the international break.
