Get growing, fellas.
November is imminent, and we all know what that means. That’s right, it’s the return of the Mo.
Now in its 20th year, Movember invites men to unite and embrace their inner Ron Swanson for a whole month while raising some vital funds to support men’s health. The money raised throughout the month goes towards a number of cause areas, including men’s mental health, suicide prevention and testicular and prostate cancer research and prevention.
Never done Movember before? Well, you’re in luck, as there’s never been a more exciting time to get involved, particularly if you’re a member of a sports club.
This Movember, we’re calling on sports clubs up and down the country to come together and take part to raise some life-saving funds. And, to sweeten the deal, there’s a great prize up for grabs for the club that raises the most moolah.
That’s right, we’re giving away a pamper package worth €1,500 to the sports club that brings in the most dough for their mo.
So, whether you’re a seasoned MO-bro, or a newbie to the game, we’re calling on sports clubs everywhere to unite and take part in Movember to promote men’s health and to raise some life-saving money. Here’s everything you need to know to take part.
How to get involved in Movember
First things first, you’ll need to register your sports club for a MoSpace page before 1 November, and register all the donations there. You can register right here, and then to be in with a chance of winning the prize, make sure you fill out the form at the bottom of this article. Then, you’ll jump into November with a clean-shaven face and grow out the tache throughout the month. As you do, reach out to your friends and family and get them to support your campaign.
Not feeling the MO this year? No problem, there are still plenty of ways to get involved with Movember. You can Move for Movember by moving 60km throughout the course of the month. The 60km represents the 60 men who die by suicide every hour, globally. Or, you can support the campaign by Hosting a MO-ment. Simply rally your friends and family for a good time and a great cause.
One brilliant benefit to doing Movember is the MO-ral support that comes with it. Whether you’re helping your MO-bros navigate the perils of an itchy upper lip or you’re trying to determine if a handle-bar moustache would suit you, it’s great to have a team to bounce off of.
