Cat Zingano is ready for her UFC return.
Alpha Cat (9-1, 2-1 UFC) has been a way from the Octagon for nearly a year and a half, but she’s preparing to thrust herself back into the title frame following her lightning quick 14-second armbar loss to Ronda Rousey at UFC 184.
After spending some time training in Thailand, the women’s bantamweight star is getting her final preparations underway for her bout against fellow top contender Julianna Pena (7-2, 3-0 UFC) at the landmark UFC 200 card in the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on July 9.
Considering the number-three ranked 135 lb-er holds wins over current champion Miesha Tate and Amanda Nunes, who will challenge for the belt at UFC 200, a win over rising star Pena could be enough to secure her the next crack at the title.
I've had a lot of help on the way. Gratitude to everyone along on this crazy ride with me:) @ufc

In order to get back inside the Octagon though, Zingano has to get herself back down to championship weight. She revealed on Instagram that to do this she has been steadily dropping weight for the last six months.
According to Zingano, she tipped the scales at 175 lbs in January, but after a lot of hard work, she has managed to drop over 17% of her body weight to get down to 145 lbs with just over a week to go until weigh-ins.
